KEEP LIVING

Yesterday, I read about the death of two people who were amazing celebrities in their respective fields.

One of them was a career advisor who flooded LinkedIn with very resourceful information for job seekers and hiring managers. She poured out as much as she could into the lives of her followers, she gave tips on resume building, she advised recruiters, she was generous with her knowledge about the job market and trends. I read her posts as often as I could. I took notes. I watched a few of her videos. She had so much zeal and passion.

But she lived with a medical condition. Then she passed on.

The other celebrity was a well-known actor. I have watched two movies where he played the lead role. He was natural. I have also listened to a speech or two by him. He had depth. He had wisdom. He was a leader. I have been reading comments from people since the news of his passing was shared on social media. It is obvious that he was also a person of influence.

But he lived with a medical condition. Then he passed on.

As I reflected on the lives of these two people, I got this message –

Keep living until you live again.

Keep living until you die.

Even when death shows up partially, find the strength and courage to keep living. Don’t give up because death is flashed in your face either through a medical diagnosis or through life’s struggles. Keep living. Two things are sure to happen. You will either live again or you die.

These individuals had their challenges;  challenges that flashed pictures of death in their faces, yet they continued living.

Despite their health conditions, they continued living.

Through the pain, they lived.

Through the discomfort, they lived.

Through the low moments, they lived.

Through the uncertainties, they lived.

That’s why they are being honoured even in death.

My friend,

keep living until life returns to you again.

Keep living until death comes in its fullness.

Just keep living.

I know life can be hard; even harder than the human mind can imagine but,

as long as you can still breathe,

and move a muscle,

and smile a bit,

Just keep living.

Your strength in the midst of pain and discomfort is a gospel on its own.

Keep living.

May the peace and comfort that comes from above surround their loved ones at this time. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
